how to make a red eyed Old Cuban cocktail

We took the red eye home from Boca. It was delayed 2 hours.  The car was in off site parking. We got home at 3 am. Therefore, I have a few things I'd like to get off my chest:
#1. Dear Mr. LED headlamp stop looking at me and go F off somewhere
#2. Dear everyone sleeping, I hate you.
#3. Dear In-Flight server lady, thanks for the free wine I love you.
#4. Dear sweet child of mine, I am sorry I bear hugged you to sleep, but it was nearly 1 am.
n e v e r t h e l e s s. . .  before all that . . .  we had fun . . .
De Rodriquez Cuba
But how? and why go to Florida in July?  To visit your 90 year old Grandma and eat Matzah Brei, Lox, Kugel, Knishes, and Latkas, and squeeze in an Old Cuban at De Rodriquez Cuba in South Beach.

Here is how to make your own...(like a mojito with my favorite beverage, Champagne)

Old Cuban Recipe:
Muddle 3/4 oz lime Juice, 1 oz simple syrup, and 6 mint leaves
add 1.5 oz rum, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, and ice
Shake and strain atop ice and top with 2 oz Champagne
Garnish with mint leaves.

The senior culture here is something to see so when you arrive in the mecca red eyed and pissed make yourself an Old Cuban, don't miss the early bird special and get to to Bagel Tree in the morning.  Of course, you could rent umbrellas at Del Rey beach and hit the clubs in Fort Lauderdale, but that's your call.
