Raising Chickens in your Backyard

There is no equal to a fresh egg.  If you want to raise your own, Spring is the best time to start.  In a few months your girls will be a layin.  Buy one more than you think you need.  We started out with 6, but now have just 5. We walked out one morning to find one flat as a pancake.

Here are a few good websites to before you get started:
Backyard Chickens.com
The Country Chicken

Two things I learned:
1. Chickens will destroy your yard, so keep them fenced where you want them.

2.  Chickens and their sh*t are dirty and someone must clean the coop. Which of course isn't me.

Cheers!
